Details
Born in Korce, Albania, 1977, living and working in the Luxembourg.
It was Albania’s longstanding tradition of Social Realism that kindled my interest in the techniques of the classic modernists. I first studied at Cluj Napoca Art Academy, Romania (ex-communist country like Albania but quicker in welcoming Western influences) before eventually ending up in Scotland – first at the Leith School of Art, then at the Edinburgh College of Art.
About my work
I am an Albanian-British artist. I like to create dynamic painting by combining bold colors with powerful drawings to visualize a blend of strong emotions. I am inspired by metamorphosis as an outline of human experience giving my works movement, energy, dynamism, and offer a viewer specific story line. The work has been selected by several galleries as well as luxury hotels. You can follow me at @eugenbregu in Instagram. I am exhibiting this year in Paris, London and Madrid.
